It was a busy week again but here we are with another Iron Log. On a personal note I finally got around to reading ‘Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow’ a book about two video game designers and their lives. I think the overall story was more about the interpersonal relationships between the characters than video games but it was nice to read a book that makes video game design more mainstream.
Anyway, I am planning on releasing the next update tomorrow afternoon or Monday at the latest. There is quite a lot in this update so please let me know if there are any issues.

🛠️ Game Changes
- New Technology Tree
- Players now need to craft and upload research packs to unlock new recipes. This requires:
- New Building: Research Table – Used to manually upload basic research packs.
- New Building: Research Lab – A larger building that can automatically upload research packs using electricity.
- Resource Deposits
- Resource deposits now have a limited amount of resources. Once depleted you’ll be able to dismantle and move the mining drill to a new location.
- Furnace
- New 3D model and textures.
- Recipe now requires scrap metal instead of stone.
- Conveyor Belt
- New 3D model and textures.
- Multiplayer
- Added basic multiplayer support, some weird edge cases and behavior but you can connect and join a game with friends.
- Host games and connect via LAN or IP address.
🎮 UI & UX Enhancements
- Added keybinding to toggle HUD visibility.
- Added Sort button in the player inventory.
- Increased brightness during night time.
- Enabled shadows on grass.
- New Settings menu, moved from a 3rd party plugin to my own implementation to keep visual style between menus.
🐛 Bug Fixes & Performance
- Fixed collision issue with Belt Splitter ghost.
- Improved performance while placing ghost belts.
- Fixed weird backward running animation.

if resources are limited, then the game has an end? Or is the map infinite?
The game will have an end but also the map is infinite.
